Wood in Chinese Superb

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Anyone know if the wood used in the Asian Superb (the hao rui superb) is the same fake one that we have in our cars? Looking at the steering wheel of some pics like the ones from the Chinese brochure or this one:

It looks a little different.. I was dreaming of finding those parts and installing them into my superb combi... if it was real wood it would look gorgeous.

Also, in the case that I could buy the steering wheel, would I have any problem installing it in my car since it has DSG gear controls in my actual wheel.

Thank you!

I am not sure how authentic the reporting is, but the caption says "hard wood" - depending how you interpret it, it could indeed be REAL wood.

No one has tried to buy the chinese steering wheel?

Ok I might be blind, but judging from the pictures (Hard to judge!) it looks exactly like the wood in my Superb

I found someone that can import it from china but he says it's not real wood, just like ours..

It's difficult to change the steering wheel? I have the dsg model and I guess the Chinese one doesn't have this dsg gear controls, woud that be a problem?

It looks exactly the same as the European " wood " trim, which as we all know is plastic. The Chinese wheel does look superb though, my Chinese friend is in China at present. Might ask him IF it is possible to buy one, trouble is he doesn't look at his e mails too often. Might be a good line in imports, even for all MK11 cars, not just those fitted with wood trim. Change over/ fitting could be expensive bearing in mind all the connections within the wheel itself?. Must confess being surprised that China has a better looking car interior than we in Europe.
