wheel size on mytyres.co.uk

Featured Replies

Just changed my 1.9SDI for a FABIA SE TDI CR 75. I was loooking on mytyres.co.uk for a set of tyres (Vredestein snowtrac 3`s) complete with steel wheels for winter.

They list 6 rims for a 1.6tdi as below.

5J 1598ccm 77kw 0.4 2007 5 hole steel wheel

5J 1598ccm 66kw 0.4 2007 5 hole steel wheel

5J 1598ccm 66kw 1.0 2009 5 hole steel wheel

5J 1598ccm 77kw 1.0 2009 5 hole steel wheel

5J 1598ccm 55kw 1.0 2009 5 hole steel wheel

5J 1598ccm 55kw 0.4 2007 5 hole steel wheel

I cannot tell which rim will be correct for my car. I presume it would be one of the 2009 rims. They are all the same price so I am inclined to go for the 77kw 1.0 2009 rims. I am assuming the 77 kw rating is a slightly heavier stronger rim than the 55kw or the 66kw. Any information would be appreciated.

The car came with 195/55 R15 85H Contact 3`s on alloy rims.

I know the vrs can drop to the 15" 195's

I'm going to get some vag rims off eBay that a place is supplying brand new and fit my snowtracs that I ran on my stilo.

The rims supplied are the same across the Fabia range as regards size, strength, offset and stud pattern.

Selecting your exact model on mytyres determines what rim diameter and tyre size is offered to you.

For example for our 1.2 12V the range offerd is from 165/70X14 to the standard fit 195/55X15's. But for our 1.2TSi ony the 15" wheels and tyres are offered.

This information for approved tyre sizes is from Skoda Germany, it's best to check with Skoda UK that you are fitting an approved wheel tyre combination for your car.

For snow conditions you are always best with as narrow a tyre as possible and a higher profile as possible, luckily this is usually the cheapest option too.

I've ordered.....

Fabia 1.2 12V Standard 195/55X15, Winter 165/70X14

Fabia 1.2 TSi Standard 195/55X15, Winter 185/60X15

Passat 2.0CR Standard 235/45X17, Winter 205/55X16

Cheers
