Add equipment to "naked" YETI (Ambition)

Featured Replies

Hello friends,

After more than a year with the Fabia 1.2TSI, it's time to upgrade, and given the very long waiting times Fabia TSI decided on the purchase of Vitti 1.2TSI manual - now began to be sold in Israel (at last).

Unfortunately, the manual version (Israel) is related only to the level of "ambition" fittings, and I want to know if you can make some upgrades to the existing car accessories - Accessories for equipment brought from Germany / Czech Republic and my country's local assembly, without causing electrical problems.

- Is it possible to replace an existing dial-board to MAXI DOT? If so, what that entails - or is it simply PLUG & PLAY?

- Is the replacement of standard steering wheel with steering wheel control the computer via / audio system, there is need for radical change but the appropriate wiring?

- Is it possible to add the original audio system (BOLERO) reversing camera? If so, what should be added besides the camera? (Car audio system comes with the SWING, which will be replaced of course).

- Replace headlights to those based Bi-Xenon with AFS, which also requires (in addition to the lamps / bulbs)?

- Does adding an original cruise control requires an additional component beyond the control unit / control?

According to what was being said to me in the garage, it is known (and entirely clear to me) that the components must be updated to a computer management, and then the components should work in full compliance - just like the original car expenses.

Is that accurate?

In addition, I'd love to get recommendations on shops / dealers (if possible - relatively cheap, I'd like) them to purchase the parts, of course, a priority for Germany (though that's fine Czech Republic).

Thank you from Israel,

Orel J.

Hi and Welcome

As the Octavia can be upgraded, the Yeti should be also as same basic car.

I would expect the Maxidot to be able to be retro fitted.

Bolero would be a straight swap, but no Yeti available with reverse camera yet.

Cruise control should also bepossible to retro fit.

Xenons. That would be very, very expensive. Wiring loom, sensor for level adjustment and headlight washers required, in addition to the headlight and balast units.

Whereas the Maxidot & cruise would be relatively cheap the xenons would be prohibitive in cost.

Best just to fit uprated bulbs.

Everything would need to be coded to the car using VCDS.

Greetings,

First, thanks for the response.

For the XENON, was perfectly obvious to me that it would not be cheap. I'm considering purchasing the houses light without adding the unit height of the beam - and yes, I know the importance of the system, but I have a high priority for the capability and efficiency of xenon light - significantly preferred over that of halogen bulbs also good and efficiency available.

I want to know that if you know the next site, and whether someone on the forum bought his way - and can make recommendations / comments.

I'd love if you could give me links to products I needed - at least in terms of wiring / control. Unfortunately there are quite a few different wiring / units with control, and I do not know what I need for sure.

Many thanks for the great help. I waited patiently for further help.

Orel J.

Have you tried superskoda?

With xenons you must have some sort of self levelling for them or it will be dangerous for on-coming traffic.

I really can't hep with part numbers. You need to get the etka & elsawin as that will give you most of your answers. I don't use windows, so I can't get hold of the info as it is a windows only program.

Good evening,

If there are acquired through friends who bought the store and they have opinions, or friends who can provide information,

I'd love to hear and focus on the important things to consider - objects and fittings after the purchase.

For now I'm checking with friends who have ETKA, and trying to organize myself for the software.
