And now I wish i'd gone to old trafford with a bad back...

Featured Replies

Instead of going to Old Trafford to watch the SL grand final, because my back was bad I stayed at home. Whilst giving my sis in law a lift to a Lee Evans gig... I somehow managed to lose traction on a plastic drain cover and slid into the rear corner of her volvo. Her volvo is absolutely unscathed... Mine however is slightly worse off:

So. Question is...

...Do we reckon the front wing is salvageable? If so how much do we reckon it's gonna cost to fix?

Secondly, do we reckon the bumper will need replacing or do we think it'll clip back in once straightened out or the front wing is replaced?

Answers welcome. And if anyone could help... It'd be much appreciated!

Update:

The wing is probably going to need replacing to look anywhere near as good as I want it - however in the meantime i've had the inner arch lining off and pushed out the denting as much as I can and cleaned it up. As it stands it doesn't look terrible, and it'll live until I can find a replacement wing, preferrably one cheap with dynamic blue paint on it. Been looking around for breakers, if anyone knows of any if you could let me know that'd be great.

In the meantime, here's a pic of how it looks now:

In the interim till I get it replaced I have devised an elegant solution:

The elegant solution

can't believe you took on a Volvo  I thought you knew better Chris!

It's the new throttle body, must have added a few horses :)

The new throttle body has added a few extra horses... But it was stupid plastic drainage cover that caused a loss of traction that caused a slide... Stupid volvo was totally unscathed. Wasn't impressed. Lol

Doh! :( The temporary fix looks quite good though! :)

I seem to remember reading on here that brand new wing panels weren't that expensive (£45 from TPS seems to ring a bell), but obviously needed painting..?

Yeah - my theory on it is that if i've to repaint i'm betting that a newly-painted wing will stick out like a sore thumb. And to paint a wing won't be cheap either...

...So instead i'm buying myself some time with the temporary fix to find an appropriately-aged dynamic blue wing from a breaker that should blend in quite nicely. Or at least more nicely than a brand-new wing...

Any good bodyshop will be able to blend the paint in with the other panels on your car.

On the plus side Leeds won

On the plus side Leeds won

Hahahaha - I'm a cas fan, so there are no plus sides ;)

As it stands however, i've managed to source an appropriately aged dynamic blue coloured replacement wing for £42 inc. delivery, so that should be pretty much an exact colour replacement. :)
