Skoda second best car in German comparison

Featured Replies

In a study done in Germany regarding different cars' reliability the Roomster finished second in its class both for cars 1-3 years and 4-5 years old, ie for all of the time the Roomster has been available. In the same study the Yeti was best in class and the best overall score, so there's some more discussion over at the Yeti forums

The presentation

Interesting that Seat and Skoda outscore cars with VW / Audi badges.

I'd say that the high reliability score is largely due to the latest technology that is applied to Audi and VW - latest low emissions engines for example. New technology may well come at the price of some reliability.

If the test were based on average fuel economy for each type - I suspect the results would be very different - with Audi / VW joined by the likes of Renault near the top.

Lower "brand expectations" for Seat / Skoda may be a factor too I reckon.
