Fabia VRS convenience unit

Featured Replies

Hi Folks does anyone know how to fit a secondhand convenience unit, My VRS has stopped listening to the remote and the doors lock / unlock at will. I was thinking about buying a second hand unt from the dreaded e-bay but not sure what will be required to match it to the car!!!!

Im sure once you code a control unit to a car in the vag range thats it, but I could be wrong, if however the convenience control unit has been whats called component protected (this is done at dealers) then thats it..... it will only work on the car it is coded to, not sure if this helps but just thought i would let you know :)

You will need VCDS or contact someone on the VCDS list on here. Either that or have a dealer fit a new unit.

Thanks for the info and sorry for delay - been away for a few days - without the car!

Have you tried a "soft reset" by disconnecting the battery for half

an hour and then reconnecting it. Might work and it's free to try...
