Crash and Run!

Featured Replies

Decided to have a day out this week in sunny France...Parked my combi in a nice shady spot and went off for dinner and a walk around a French mediaval town...Three and a bit hours later and the day was ruined! Returned to find my luvverly Superb Combi witn the tailgate glass shattered and an unusual dent in the tailgate panelwork. Not surprisingly, no note no nothing, just a mess. We reckon that somebody with a bicycle on the back of their car had reversed into mine and the pedal had smashed into the tailgate ridden up and smashed the rear screen.

Spent the next 30-45 minutes removing all of the glass fragments. Next job, get the glass fixed for some protection and security. Visited Carglass in Toulouse (same as AutoGlass in the UK) who spent ages trying to find the right glass with a promise of 3 days to get the replacement!!!!! To cut the long story short I returned for the new glass to be fitted on Friday!!!!....Nah wrong glass! They rang Skoda to get the right glass who say it could be 3 days or TWO MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love my Skoda, I hate people who do a smash and run.....and I am getting really p1553d off with the very poor after sales service of SKODA here in France........tho´ I am getting the impression that after sales are not especially good even back in the UK!

No problems with after sales here, the only problem I have had with my superb was fixed in a couple of days by the local dealer here in Dorset.

Dont know about the French dealer network, but I also had a great experience in Spain when Safamotor in Marbella did a repair on my previous Octy whilst on holiday.
