Octavia vrs bleeding with vag com

Featured Replies

Hiiiiiiii guys I'm new to this website sooo go easy :-)

I have a skoda Octavia VRS on a 54 plate. I've done all my interior mods and today starting on the exterior (brakes)

So I removed my calipers but cut the hoses to save time as I was going to renew them with braided, as I cut threw the rears I noticed they were already braided? Which stuffed me even more cos my hose clamps didn't hold the brake fluid back.

So I carried on not cutting the rest of the hoses but taking the time to undo them the front are not braided already though, I painted all my calipers smooth green with hammerite paint perfect match. Next day going to replace my newly painted calipers I offered up the new hoses to the rear to notice they look noting like the ones already there so I tried the front they seemed to be 2 inch's or so to short with no clips? The kit I bought was HEL for my car here's a link

So i my questions are I guess the rears don't need to be replaced from the standard?

Is it worth changing the fronts if I can get the right ones?

And now all the brake fluid is drained out am I going to need vag com to bleed it all again?

I have searched for bleeding guides on vag com but they only explain how to do the cycle the abs pump an not what to do start to finish eg: do I bleed all the brakes 1st then use vag com or do I need to bleed the abs 1st then the rest of the brakes? Lucky enough I have the vag com to get the pump going just a guide would be a great help.

Last thing I've read I need 3 litres to bleed the abs pump is this correct cos it seems like alot of waste or can it be reused?

Thanks so much in advance

Dan
