RIP Dan Wheldon

Killed doing what he loved... emoticon-0149-no.gif

A huge shame, but a terrifying accident....RIP.

Absolute carnage - was trying to work out which car he was in

Looking at the footage it's surprising more weren't killed or seriously injured :'(

Just got back to our hotel in Washington DC to see the news of Dan Wheldon's fatal crash, looked a really bad crash.

He was the second car to hit the catch fence...

I was watching it live, feel physically sick :/

Horrible crash, RIP Dan, great driver and such a nice guy.

i was watching it as well, don't deal with things like that all that well.. I felt sick and cold/numb. What a poor poor chap, and an awful tragedy.

Another talented loss.

R.I.P Dan. My thoughts are with you, your family and those that knew you.

RIP Dan Wheldon

very sad, was watching the race live when it happened.

RIP

Was the first Indy race I'd ever seen too. Someone pointed me in the direction of a stream and I really wish they hadn't it was horrific to watch. A death in any sport is always tragic. The irony is was that Dan was behind all the safety stuff behind the 2012 car.

Oh and whatever you do don't read the Daily Fail's web story about it. Full of sensationalist reporting and boiled my pi$$ just reading it. They should be ashamed

Tribute on Sky Sports 2 on Thursday 20th October at 10pm for 1 hour.

Such a shame.
