right guys,,the noise continues,, ive checked aux belts,,pulleys.. exhaust manifold studs,, everything i can think of,,and the car still makes this mystery noise..all i can explan it as is a swirling/screeching type noise,,it only happens with a quick accelerator jab..when cold,,andwhen starting the car from cold,,it will mak the noise for a few secondss, ive posted a few videos on this topic an nobody seems to know what it is,,,heres anothervid i took lastnight,,,while driving the car,,,u can distinctly hear the swirling type noise as i accelerate..pls help

Are you sure you've not got a leak somewhere in your exhaust setup? That seems pretty whistley to me...

When at temp the metal may expand which would effectively seal it a little.

If not... I'd possibly consider getting it properly checked out. Turbo maybe?

thaanks for the reply chris... i had the car on a lift today when i was replacing a wheel bearin an examined the whole exhaust system and found no traces of leaks,,,the noise is very whistley and i also thought it was a turbo related issue,,,but it does go when the engine has been driven for a while so that leads me back to the exhaust thought.. ive checked manifold studs and turbo to manifold studs and all seems to be fine,,, the noise is hard to trace when jabbing the accelerator to make the noise,,,but i had my dad jab the pedal contiously for a while while i listened under the bonnet and its most definalt coming from aroiund the turbo/exhaust manifold area... also i noticed a few puffs of exhaust smoke rising from the back area of the engine on start up...any ideas ?????

I had a similar noise when I had my vRS,it was the aux belt. Try rubbing some tyre fitters chalk on the belt when its running,if the noise stops for a day or two its defo the belt.
