Featured Replies

Innotec?

Think I could do with a clean.

Read on another forum people using mr muscle, hmmmm

What are you talking about please?

Turbo vanes in exhaust side of the turbo

Why would you need to clean them? That's the 'dirty' side of the turbo, it get REALLY hot and glows a dull red when in use.

Well done....

Now for anyone who has experience of it please share.

Lots of people use it over on ukmkiv's

I think its mainly used when turbo's get cloged up due to them not having a good italian tune up now and again, to try and free them up

I've just tried to tell you that you don't need to 'clean' your turbo since it isn't dirty, and why.

You're clearly not listening so why don't you just go ahead and do what you want to do anyway?

Just be careful not to damage anything in your pursuit of perfection.

Quite clearly you know VNT's.

Your comments are of top excellence haha

Enlighten me please Einstein.

I'm simply trying to warn you off damaging something expensive by doing something pointless which you're clearly inadequately qualified to undertake.

Was it turbo force in bamber bridge?

Variable vanes in the turbo einstein.

Just been reading some of your replies and they are all somewhat useless, so I'd like you not to reply unless useful.

I'm asking of some advice on turbo cleaners If you can read

There seems to be plenty of guides out there saying it works...

The thing to note is that sodium hydroxide is ok on steel and cast iron as used in the exhaust side of the turbo, but will react with aluminium alloy and will disintegrate it whilst making hydrogen gas on the intake side.

So point to note:

DON'T get it on the intake side.

When cleaning turbos you can use anything really so long as its not corrosive wd40 would be easy with some scotchbrite and a bit of elbow grease however it will be instantly dirty again after 50+ miles so consider whether you need to or not
