Fuel Giuage Graduations

Featured Replies

I still cannot understand the fuel guage graduations on the Roomster 2 panel. As anyone got a clear explanation please

No! I have also found that the fuel gauge is totally off, and only reliable once it shows empty. I even had to correct my needle with the VCDS with about 8 degrees or so to get it to be where the red area starts when I get the refuel warning. For the first 200 km it shows full, att 550 km it shows half full, and at about 750 km the refuel warning comes on for me. No logic and/or reason whatsoever.

This is actually the one single thing that I really don't like about the roomie. On the Yeti the fuel gauge was very exact and linear. A major tick represented 100 km, and it was usually exact to within 5 km or so...

Hi there, keep in mind that you are "lucky" since your car is equiped with maxi dot dash panel. Things get more complicated if your car is equiped with MFD dash panel.

Yes it is difficult to understand the way gauge works. After 16 months I still trying to calculate it. There is another fact. Reservoir's - tank's shape is trapezoid like and it gets more difficult to calculate remaining fuel.

Before refueling I was travelling for 500 Km at 120Km/h on highway with my wife and boot full of stuff. At fuel station trip computer showed more 500Km autonomy and gauge showed the four top boxes empty. It took 30.6Lt of petrol to top up. Well take a look here. 80 Km after refueling (40Km steep uphill & 40Km steep downhill full of curves and hairpins).

It was actually a requirement for me. I have had the maxidot in the latest 2 cars, and would not want to be without it ever again.

by the way, Impressive range!!! I think I had something along 110 kms in total as best I have ever seen.

Its simple enough, when the bong goes off start to think about putting fuel in :D
