Morning all

I need to get 2 tyres,to get rid of the ditch finders i have on the front.

I read alot about the rainsport being hard to get and out of production.

I had rainsports on my vrs when I bought my vrs, they were ok, changed them for pirelli zero neros a year or do ago and haven't looked back, grip is excellent, noise is better than the rainsports, they seem to be wearing well.

look forward to a bit of abuse about posting a tyre related question lol!

I have p zeros at the moment but I am having a full set of toyo t1r's on the weekend :)

+1 for P Zero Nero tyres. £65 a corner (special dealer price) loads of grip, even in the wet.

i expect it tbh - but there is just loads of info on rainsport's and then no stock of them then thats it

not sure i want f1's on this car.

so just other opinions

Said this loads of times - michelin pilot exaltos! Cant beat them for an allrounder.

P Zero Nero here too. Seem to behave very well. They're coming off soon though for the Dunlop WinterSports I've just got.

I have full tr1s all around at the moment, if the road has been wet in the past few days, where it's slightly greasy be warned it is VERY scittery over the road, it feels like the car is going to let go at any point, very unerveing, your driving speed has to be brought right down, I really don't drive that hard either, when my little one is not in the car it's nice to have a bit of fun, and in the summer when it's hot, and been dry for a few days the tr1s are brill loads of grip and keep hanging on, the other thing is I did notice a drop in mpg when putting these on, people will argue for the sake of arguing but this is just my opinion as I do have them on my car at the mo, but my advice would be this time of year is the wrong time to be putting these tyres on, it would be like putting winter tyres on in June! The toyos are described as summer tyres, in this climate (weather not money) I doubt I would use tr1s again, in the dry I doubt spending any extra £££s would give a better grip on the road, but in the wet is another matter.

i totally agree had similar issues in my old corsa when i had them on

Had Kumho Esctas on my Celica a while back...didn't rate them personally...dry or wet  . Wouldnt chose them again.

Hi Phil

Have a quick look at Autoexpress website for tyre review, they used vRS for tests. I ran Khumo before, can't recall specific tyre, but recently bought Falken 452 from Camskill tyres - much cheaper than Conti's and just as good - the 452's seem to appear with good reviews on other car owner forums.

Just out of interest I ordered tyres from Camskill at 120pm on Tuesday and they were with me by 930am the next morning!

Chubbs

I can't quite believe nobody has mentioned Yokohama Parada Spec 2's.

I fished around and managed to get a full set of 205/40/17's Yoko Parada Spec 2's brand spanking new for £250.

They were great in the dry, pretty good in the wet and overall great tyres.

Parada's are not great in the wet just look at the tyre pattern, I had them on my Golf and quickly changed to t1r's

My Kuhmo's have been great in the wet and dry but have worn out now and i only put them on in April!

My Falken 452's have been great with no real wear on them when i swapped them to the back and still the same even now. I've always found that kuhmo's have worn out quickly on all my cars

Uniroyal RainSports, ( The Rain Tyre )

Awesome in the Dry, even better in the Wet

The End
