Well I've had it a week now, 900 odd miles on the clock so I thought I'd let you know what I think of the new addition.

Before I do the pros and cons I must admit that I did NOT test drive a superb before I bought it, my "logic" at the time (and driving an Octavia 170 VRS) was that my Octavia had performed brilliantly for 3 and a bit years, and not so brilliantly for the last 7 months, but overall It had been a good car but was tired. Also I couldn't be bothered because I knew that that was what I was going to get anyway!

OK onto the good first

Heated windscreen already used 3 times this week, how did I live without it?

Heated seats are lovely too although only used once so far.

MDI works well, my only criticism is that the lead (Genuine part) is a bit short and could do with being about twice the length it is now.

Upgraded sound system, well I can only compare it to my Octavia, my recommendation is that if you can afford it, buy it!

Variable boot floor has not really been used to its potential yet, but will be exploited for camping next year!

Sunset Glass, I've seen a lot of people complaining about it but I reckon it's just about right.

DSG box is fantastic, will play with this some more once the engine has loosened up a bit.

Coming from the VRS to a superb I reckon it has slowed me down a bit as it feels in all respects a more adult car!

Not so good (but not bad!)....

What really disappointed me is that you don't even get a set of cheapo crappy mats with it, so i've had to order some on the quick.

Boot size surprised me too, my old boot mat from the octavia is a bit wider but not as long, I'd guess this is because of the leg room in the back.

Front seats are a bit narrow (dare I say narrower than the Octavias?) for my "generous" proportions but still quite comfortable.

Unusual...

It takes a bit of getting used to but in the VRS people would let you into traffic and would get out of your way pretty quick, not so much in the superb, or am I just being paranoid :S

It's dirty at the moment but I'll get it washed and put some photys up tomorrow.

Suspect the respect at junctions with other traffic issue is the Superb is more like a beemer than the Octy, so treated like a plonker.

I find the Superb makes me drive in a more relaxed manner than other cars- I have the drivers seat set more reclined than I used previously. Get on to the open road, set cruise control, raise and extend centre armrest and chill!- even better with heated seats on.
