Thinking of a yeti - discount?

Featured Replies

Hi

I currently own a landrover defender for winter driving but the london emmision zones means im no longer able to use it soon so im thinking about getting a yeti so I can use it more during the year as oppose to sitting on the driveway like the landrover.

Anyway I just wondered if dealers are up for any discount on the yeti considering its such a good selling car? im after a 2 4x4 litre tdi with the offroad button extras so looking at about 21-22k ish listed price, ive always negotiated hard on all my cars but im not sure what I can expect with the yeti?

alternatively whats the best site for online discount cars? drive the deal?

many thanks

One of the best people to talk to is Janes Rothwell at Allams in Epsom. I used him, as have several people on here. He is a site sponsor (Allams Skoda). Well worth a phone call or an email.

Not sure who are the best online dealers at the moment, but dtd or carquake spring to mind. I personally preferred the local dealer route. I am not sure what deals are available currently. Ask James. He is very good.

Hi,

yes it's James Rothwell and another vote for Allams; their not my nearest dealer by any means but the deal & customer service offered was far better than anything I could get locally.

Hi,

I used Autoebid and they put me in touch with Autofinders. Got about 4k off a good spec Elegance 170 - or at least I will when it arrives. The lead times on these are horrendous (now quoted March 2012 - ordered in May 2011) but I'm lead to believe they're worth it.

Best of luck with your choice.

Steve

Yep. Typo. Should be James. The text on the iPhone is so small I don't always pick up on typos!

Another vote from a very happy customer of James and all at Allams. Like many others, they aren't my local dealer by a long way but the visit is always worth it. :)

In fact, I called in for a coffee the other afternoon to talk about life after TIBET - ie TIBET 2 (damn those personalised number plates... ;) ), one has to plan ahead with the lead times for CR170s. Now what colour next time... :S

Hi aero,

hope your keeping well; my vote is with the new metallic blue, having seen photo's I think it suites the beast. Otherwise why not another Tibetan white

Regards as always,

TP

Strangely enough Tim I said Petrol Blue with the Gobi leather maybe with the silver rails to brighten up the Yeti slightly.

Thanks for giving Maverick my details guys.

I've got your PM and replied so hopefully you'll have that now, but left me know if it doesn't go through as I have problems with them sometimes, if nothing has come back email me directly at [email protected]

Thanks!

I've been offered about £1500 =~ 8% off a Greenline Elegance from one of my local dealers in Cumbria, would be interested in hearing if this is the maximum going rate.

Depends if your local Dealer is in the Kingmoor or Lillyhall Ind Estate

Quoted discount was from Kingmoor. I'm mid point between 3 dealers !

As mentioned earlier in the thread, give James at Allams a call. May be a good distance from you, but a lots of people have bought from him and have been very happy with the price and service.

I got a great deal with the Kingmoor Dealer - Lillyhall really didn't seem to get into the same ball park!

James from Allams was very close to the price - the 'deal closer' was Dealer distance. James was very helpful without being pushy and even though he knew he wasn't going to get the sale he continued to offer good advice.

Try Uk Car Discount (On-line)

Seems bizarre that there are discounts at all given the waiting list.

I've ordered through "UK Car Discounts" - online -(6 May 11) and got a approx' £3000 discount - but it has not arrived yet... Due March 2012. I have telephoned every now and again, and they are always polite and helpful. I even asked if they had the same priority as a main dealer - they said yes...

Mine is ordered through Broadspeed/Pro-cars - got 11% discount off list. My dealer was not interested in even discussing a discount, so I went online for quotes. Due for delivery in March 12, which suits me fine anyway - though if we have a bad Winter, I will wish it was earlier...

My opinion on prices FWIW is that although there is a waiting list now, it won't last forever, and if you pay full whack now, you will probably get hit for a double dip, as once supply evens out the prices will tumble as dealers try to shift stock, and your used value will drop with it.
