Yeah me to don't like stopping in service stations only if I have to. Like full bladder?emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

It's pretty good at long distance I have to say.

I've been down to Oulton Park this weekend. From there to Carlisle non-stop is about 2.5hrs when cruising at the speed limits. Computer said 53.5mpg average :o

Going down was different though, had a pretty brisk headwind which knocked me back to 43mpg :(

I have the same engine but still tight as only done 650 miles. I went to Grange-Over-Sands today from our home. Computer said that going was an average speed of 62 and MPG was 48, coming back average speed was 64 (there was a lot of buffeting wind) and only got 42 MPG! Did it in 1 hour 5 minutes though  Just like to add that it was a very comfortable ride.

Fabia doesn't like wind, it's tall with a blunt front end and a flat back end. I've owned three, turbo diesel, turbo petrol and petrol, the economy really drops off as the speed increases. Even the most economical could loose nearly 10mpg if going from 70 to 80 mph.

The 1.9tdi would be more economical than my heavier 2.0cr dsg Passat at 60mph. At 70mph they were pretty equal but by 80mph the Passat was more economical.

Our Fabia tsi dsg has 1600miles on it now. It seems to be doing around 50mpg on a run and about 40mpg around town. In fact it seems to be pretty much matching the 1.2 12v htp.

Cheers

Lee

That fabia doesn't like wind AT ALL! My new (to me) 1.9 tdi gave me a reading of 62mpg on a run from coventry to manchester last weekend with 30000 on the clock.... that was sticking around 80mph. I was pretty impressed :)

I also found in most of my cars, maybe it was me going crazy but 75-80mph was the sweet spot in my old 2.0i and 1.4 16v, however my dads old 1.4 tdi Fabia preferred 70

Thanks,

Leon

As said in my other posts I'm very new to Skoda. This thread took my interest as I've just purchased a Monte Carlo 1.2 77 TSI. But you blokes are talking about 86's and 105's, can you explain, 77, 86, 105.

BTW Fabia was only introduced into Australia this mth and 1.2 77 TSI is the only car available.

can you explain, 77, 86, 105

We still like to measure power as BHP, many other countries are using KW as their power measure.

Yours is the 77KW engine, which is 105BHP.

And the 86ps/85bhp is 63KW

how come skoda call their 1.2 12v 70bhp, then later call it 69bhp and 70ps?

Marketing department being a bit lazy?
