Where can i buy control unit for Fabia 2007 electric windows

Featured Replies

Hi don't know if this has been covered on here before but here goes.

I drive a Skoda Fabia 1.4 diesel elegance 2007 new model.

My electric windows both sides will not work anymore/all other electrics working fine, took it to local garage he said it was the control unit.

Did a search online for new /reconditioned one but no luck so far can anyone tel me where i can order one online please.I'm from England but now live in Ireland.

Thanks Baz

Hi Baz,

I had a similar sounding fault on my 2007 Roomster 1.4 (same electrics as your car)

Initially I suspected the "Convenience Control Unit" - the same as your garage has diagnosed.

I replaced the control unit only to find that the fault persisted.

Eventually traced it to a faulty drivers side window motor. There is a processor on the drivers side motor that controls both electric windows.

I'm sorry to add more confusion / variables to your problem but I'm hoping to save you some unecessary expense if possible.

Of course it may be that your control unit IS faulty, in which case check the type number carefully as there are several different variants available. If you happen to need a 5J0959433A then drop me a line, cos there's one sitting on my bookcase as we speak !

Oh, and it's a pig to work on too. It lives underneath the steering column and you need to be a bit of a contortionist to get it out.

Good luck,

Pete
