Piranha Brakes.....

Featured Replies

Been looking around now that ive nabbed some calipers and carriers. A good set of 312 discs. Ive seen alot of people recommend mintex or pagid standard solid discs. But has anyone ever heard of or used These..........

They seem rather expensive compared to other discs on the market as well.

Plus is there any point what so ever to get drilled, grooved or drilled & grooved combo. I dont go tracking at all. But want to make sure when the worse case sceneria appears I can slam anchors on and get the best possible stoppage!

Any thoughts peeps?? :D

The Pagids on mine are plenty good enough for

any scenario you may encounter on the roads.

For road use any more than that is just overkill IMO.

If you're ever going to track it on a regular basis then that's

another thing. Repeated heavy braking isn't something

you should be doing on the roads unless you're driving

the car dangerously fast all the time.

Cosmetically the grooved discs look better I guess if

that's your thing but they'll rust quickly on the non service

parts of the disc and that soon ruins the look. That's

my main reason for choosing Pagid, they look new for longer

being painted and they are OE spec for a bigger car so they

should be adequate for the Fabia.

Belive it or not I think thats the slogen they are running with

I seriously wouldnt worry about slowing down in a hurry, a Fabia is massively over-braked with a 312 setup, whatever setup you stick on will put you thru the window

Music to my ears :giggle: Going to get the 256 setup as well, then get the whole system bleeded.

I had a c2 vtr which had stupidly good brakes. I rember the first time I set off I mearly corresed (caressed) my foot on the brake pedal, and my head nearly hit the steering wheel

Daft as that sounds, I miss that!

I had one of them too! Well, for a week, till the flappy paddle gearbox died and a had enough lol. I remember it did have good breaks though, suppose because its light that helps. But yes, you will enjoy the 312`s & 256`s, thats my current setup, excellent.

To be trutful mate, it was a great little car, quiet nippy, nice handling, very comfortable, good steering and as mentioned sweet breaks. But yer the flappy paddle gearbox had such a mind of its own, when it worked it was great, when it didnt....it didnt

Still onwards and upwards :D
