Continential Conti Touring Contact

Featured Replies

Guys any of you have any experience of these ?

I have a chance to get a set of 17"wheels which need refurb, they have 2 good Continentials and 2 bad bridgestones. Anyway for comparing the stats at the bottom of these links of the

Continential Conti Touring Contact to the Pirelli P6000's I currently have on my 16's, they seem rubbish.

My current 16"wheels need 4 new tires, although I may just use the spare as one. The also need refurb due to some cowboys working on them which in all will cost around 500-600 Euro all in. I'd like to go with the 17" but unless I can get them for the right price its a waste of money (as firstly I'm planning on changing next year and also by the looks of it they'll need 4 new, better tires).

The Contis win....the P6000 is a distant, poor cousin, twice removed, from what a tyre should be....I have been very disappointed by them and suspect I was only sold them at a heavy discount because they had shedloads that they couldn't shift.

Friend runs a chipped Leon Tdi and has the conti's which, even with hard braking and driving (her driving is awful!!!) last over 40K

And finally, locally, she has managed to get the Conti's for a fantastic price....I'll double check but I'm sure they were less than

She is coming across tonight and I'll have a look at her rubber and see what she is using

I do know that the tyres on her car handle superbly in the wet and dry, whereas when my P6000's sniff a raindrop they skite all over the place......never had a tyre that aquaplaned so badly from new and I need to be able drive at high speed in all weather so I'm rippping them up as fast as I can to justify replacing them.........I hate them :mad:

I'd appreciate that, before I make a decision wheather to keep them or not.

I've got Conti SportContacts all round (205/55x16, on an Octavia Elegance 1.8T). IMO they're much better that the Pirelli P6000s which it had from the factory. The only downside is that the fronts seem to be wearing a bit quicker than the P6000s did.

I wonder what they are like compared to the Touring Contacts though :)

They are actually Continental Contact Eco CP tyres, ie none of the above.......but they are blooming fantastic and they cost less than
