Skoda Estelle 120

Featured Replies

I picked up a B-reg Estelle today. It had sat for two and a half years at a Garage that were ex-Skoda dealers. It has had some parts taken from it by the garage and is probably about 90% complete. It needs a new gearbox input shaft oil seal as the garage just took the input shaft out of this car and left the old one under this cars bonnet. They also took of the Head and left an old Head that needs new valves. It has no carb or air filter. The interior is dirty but in great condition for it's age - it is a one owner car with a genuine 30,500 on the clock. On the drivers side the body is great - practically no rust - but on the passenger side it needs a new wing and new sill (seems to have rotted from around the jacking point) - there doesn't seem to be any rot from the arches to the sill. I am trying to decide whether I would be better trying to repair this engine or to try to get a good engine and just fit that in. I do want to keep it original so it would have to be a 120 lump - any advice would be appreciated. I do need to get it working mechanically first as at the moment the only way I can move it to do any work on it is to push it. I will try to attach some pictures of it in the state it arrived in to this post and tomorrow once it's been cleaned I will try to add some pictures to show what lies underneath all the dirt.

Its great that its survived so well and that people are taking the time to save them. I will leav you in the hands of those that are mechanically minded. Good luck!!

If you want to keep it original then an engine build will be the least of your worries...they are all basically the same and there have even been new unusued heads on ebay in recent months...bearings are also straight forward. If you need an inlet manifold and carb ( Jikov but of unknown origin ) then I have both. The unseen rust will be the biggest problem.

B) Fantastic!

Get it dropped out at Daverapid's and let him work his magic!

Well done for saving it.

I think Dave and his magic spanners would have that fettled in no time. It would go well with the shed he owns.

;) Ooooh, stop, you're making me blush! :p
