Octavia vRS petrol remap acc. measurements

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just wanted to share the results of my upgrade on my Octavia II vRS Petrol.

As of now, I do not have the dyno print out, but from the screen in the workshop, I had 275hp and 410Nm in a warm environment, so I guess the numbers are just a tiny bit better because of the temperature, but I don't know by how much.

Below here you see the improvement in terms of acceleration measured with a G-tech Fanatic RR (GPS based logger). The measurements are therefore with no roll-out and real speed. The baseline measurement on the standard version is also corresponding very well with data from Skoda (7.26s measured and 7.30s by Skoda).

Well here goes:

As you see, the remap gave some improvements, and it is really recommendable

What stage map is that and what mods?

Is the car now slower to 62mph? I know that this isn't what the remap is all about, but it's the one thing that sticks out on the bar chart. Impressive figures apart from that though.

LOL I did not catch that - it's old data on too slippery surface, but corrected now. The gains are still the same - for some reason I got them right... :)

The mods are Milltek turbo-back, Gen E diverter valve, Evoms Intake.

What stage... Well I just fitted everything and the map is custom, so I can't answer that...

Even more impressive! I like. A lot.

Now to check down the side of the sofa for any spare change!

Stage 2 then if you haven't got the fuel pump upgrade. I presume you mean Revision D diverter valve, I'm not aware of an E yet?

Your figures are around stage 2+ territory, If you have a Dyno Dynamics RR near you get it on one and we'll see what she's really making.

No fuel pump upgrade. With the cold climate here (below 10C) I can hear that the clutch is struggling in midrange. I guess, there is no point, if I have to get an uprated clutch also, or am I wrong? Will I get anything else than more torque at low to mid rpm?

Perhaps only rev D - the latest version at least :D

Clutch is a weak point and no I wouldn't go any further than you are at now as it sounds like the clutch is not liking it.

The fuel pump will allow you to hold torque a little longer and and you will gain a little more power at high rpm.

Just saw in your signature that you have a Sachs clutch. How much was it? Is it driveable?

Yes it's fine but it is a bit heavier than the standard clutch and does make my knee ache a little in heavy traffic jams. I got a new flywheel to go with it and inc fitting it came to about £1000
