After researching on line I went for Barums. £297 for four all in, fitted by National Tyres. Ordered through My Tyres which knocked £64 of National's own prices. Used National several time without complaint.

A nice thick rim protector and they seem quiet and well balanced and importantly- no visible rim damage this time. Large open grooves ,a bit like Avons (and Barum parent company Continental) so let's hope the wear is tolerable.

Decided against Michelins again as they are expensive even when discounted (£140 each) and the Primacy HP on the front did not wear as well as the OE Pilot Primacy. A local tyre place was cheaper last year for the Michelins but a rim needed repairing after their efforts.

Thanks for the link- hope they live up to the promise. SWMBO Getz has been very happy with the Barum Brilliantis I had fitted a while back.
