1.2TSi so sensitive to fuel

I wouldn't worry too much - its winter (ish) mpg is only going to get worse as we use more heaters/heated screens/seats etc and cars take longer to warm up meaning less economical.

Fatbloke - I have the same MPG as you and doing the same journeys :D

We run two 1.2's. A 1.2TSi 105 DSG and a 1.2 12V HTP 70.

They are both very similar in economy if driven in the same style, high 30's mpg around town and high 40's to 50mpg on a run. I'd say the HTP is a little better around town at slow speed and the TSi is better on a run. TSi is much better on the motorway at 70+ due to the taller gearing.

Not bad considering the TSi has 35bhp more and an automatic gearbox.

My Passat 2.0CR DSG can more or less match them around town and easily beats them on a run for economy though, I did expect the TSi to be a little better but it's still only got 2k miles on it.
