Rear door trim removal

Featured Replies

Hi all - I'm sure it has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything in using forum search.

I need to remove the rear door trim on my 2000 Octavia Combi GLX. There is a rattle that is driving me insane in the brain.

Is there a procedure to this? I removed all the torx screws around the perimeter of the trim and the phillips behind the door handle, but the trim wouldn't budge. Is the grab handle fixed to something? I can find no fixings on it.

Any help appreciated.

Is the info in the link below about removing the front door panel of any use?

http://cars.packetradio.co.uk/octavia/alientech.htm

Thanks - I've read that one before. But I reckon there some other catch (possibly literally!) to the rear door. I think it's the grab handle (which isn't on this drivers door). But I cannot see how to release it.

Thanks for the link anyway.

Anybody have any views on this?

When I remove all the torx and the phillips behind the handle, I think I need to lift the trim up, but it won't budge. It seems to be fixed around the central grab-handle, but I can find no fixings. Has anyone removed this trim?

If not, does anyone have a workshop manual that might describe this?

Thanks in advance

Anybody with any experience with the rear door trim? (last time I'll ask, promise)

make sure you remove the tweeter cover as there is a small philips screw behind it.

Thanks stathap - i'll give that a look this evening - the thought police have restricted access here.

I had spotted that phillips screw T900 (unfortunately I dropped it in behind the trim too!)

Thanks a million stathap. These worked perfectly, the only difference being the Skoda has the phillips behind the tweeter cover, and the panel is not held on by snaps.

Turns out that the plastic ring that goes through the padding on the top of the door and around the lock button had split and was vibrating away merrily.

Blessed peace at last!
