MyTyres.co.uk : Delivery Time?

Featured Replies

Hi.

I ordered my winter wheel/tyre combination for my Octavia from MyTres back at the beginning of October. I paid straight up and the money has left my account. My tyres still haven't arrived despite numerous "reassurances" that they'd be with me "by the end of the week".

Is it just me or are they consistently poor at delivering?

I think they are really busy this year, with more and more switching to winter tyres. I ordered mine on 4th October and the were delivered 2nd Nov.

Last year my winter tyres took four weeks from mytyres.

If you ordered the beginning of October I'd expect them to be here shortly.

I ordered tyres only on 17th October. They were dispatched from Germany on 21st October and arrived in Aberdeen on 26th October.

I seem to remember reading on their site that wheels + tyres would take a little longer.

Did you get a tracking number with your confirmation e-mail?

Heard a few bad stories about these guys.

Yeah I've got the tracking number and have been in touch with them via email. They keep promising they'll be here by the end of next week. They spoke to my missus today (I'm out of country) and apparently they weren't dispatched when they should have been so we are awaiting a new delivery date.

As mentioned I know I bought at the same time as alot of other people but it does annoy me when companies say they'll deliver something by a certain date and then fail completely to do it!!

I ordered mine last year in August from Mytyres, they arrived a week later.

Put yourself in there situation - someone walks into your place of work and out of the blue puts in an order in for 10x the amount you can normally handle in a week, this is on top of your usual weeks work, something has to give.

It is are finally getting through to some UK owners that winter tyres offer greater safety during the winter months, most of these people have never bothered before so the increase in demand for winter tyres can only be speculated this is in addition to their regular customers who have run winter tyres for years, the supply problem will not isolated to just Mytyres as it will be the manufacturers that are struggling to keep up with demand the most.

mytyres delivered my wifes winters last month, took about two weeks.

Last year I bought a set fot my Passat, took about 5 weeks.

Cheers

Lee

Heard a few bad stories about these guys.

I've bought both summer and "winter + wheels" from them and they were quick with delivery. I think that the problem will be that they are having difficulty actually getting hold of the tyres - remember they will be buying these tyres on the "open market" - that is why they can offer good prices, and right now Europe is changing over to winter tyres, so demand from the places that they buy tyres from will be high.

A guy at work ended up being supplied with tyres of the next load rating up from what he had ordered, then fitted and used them before complaining - now that does not work does it, I think that he has forgotten that incident and continues to use these "all weather" tyres one year later.

Been going on for years not just at winter. :)

Posted elsewhere, but relevent to this thread...

Well, talk about fast delivery!

My Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 tyres arrived today.

I ordered with mytyres on the 7th, they were sent on the 8th with arrival expected on the 15th.

So 3 days after ordering they are here! :o

You jammy sod! Haha.

After another email I got a response. They had apparently failed to despatch from the warehouse but I've now received the automated message saying they've been sent. I'll see if they turn up. Wish they'd come whilst I was still at home though.

Didn't have any problems when I ordered my winters about a month ago. Arrived a few days earlier than they promised.

My Avon Ice Touring ST's took about 3 weeks. When I got the tracking number they said I would receive them in 1 week but they actually took 4 days. Tracking site worked really well and I new they had arrived at Nottingham depot in the early hours so expected delivery that day which is how it worked out. I think it depends on what you have ordered, some sizes/makes are harder to find than others. What made me wince was that the Avons were not available in UK so ordered from Mytyres in Germany and guess what, where are the tyres made? On the side wall 'Made in England' :wonder:

well, lots of variations in service here...

personally I cancelled my order, because they couldn't provide the tyres in the delivery times stated on the website (I had my service booked and wanted to change the tyres then, and they were going to take too long.) so I just asked the skoda garage to get me tyres, which they did

Ordered tyres on Friday 4th, recieved tyres on Friday 11th, Germany to Ireland over land............not bad. The DPD tracking site is telling me that their still in Germany ?????

And so it continues.

2 x wheel & tyre (s) have been delivered today.

The other two are still in Germany according to the tracking website. Another email to fire away!!

I ordered mine on the 27th of October and I'm still waiting. I have emailed them twice now with no reply. I understand that they may be busy but any firm worth their money should have anticipated that demand would go up at this time of year. Plus its not very professional to ignore customers emails. If they don't reply to me by the end of this week I will be cancelling my order.

Yeah a surge in demand is one thing but not answering customers emails is quite another!

I got 2 delivered yesterday (not much use without the other 2) the others are still in Germany when I check the tracker. No doubt I will have to wait another week for them! Why they can't be delivered in one go baffles me.

That is exactly what happened to me. Infact the other 2 turned up the next day!! Madness.

The other two arrived today! just need to fit them now.

Maybe a good reason to buy locally and pay a wee bit more.

You know what they say" you only get what you pay for"
