Parked my Yeti at our local M&S nothing in the two other bays on drivers side, and a Renault Megane coupe in the next bay passenger side. I got out and locked the vehicle with the remote as normal, and the Renault's car alarm went off. Anyone had this happen? Or should it happen?

It was probably frightened by having a Yeti next to it.

Sounds like typical French electrics to me! :giggle:

Hmmm, next time I see a Renault parked up I'm going to play with my blipper and see what happens just for the hell of it

I had one car blipper that managed to unlock an adjacent car of a different make as I was leaving mine. All a bit unnerving!

French electronics for you!!! Note to self: must park next to Meganes more!

There is probably a very boring reason in that the alarm had been set off previously (perhaps by a dog in the car or a window left open) and then it is just a coincidence that as you locked your Yeti, it went off again - just to remind us that it had gone off! However, if you were able to repeat it then thats another matter.

Aparently there is a tesco supermarket/fuel station in York where occasional peogeots and renaults and some other cars will not start again after stopping due to local electrical inteference. They have to be pushed off the forecourt to a clear area where they will work again! Says a lot for the quality of their installation, whereas cars like my skodas have bnever had a problem

If the interference is that bad I wouldn't feel confident about the accuracy of their pumps.

There's a service area and petrol station just outside Thame, Oxfordshsire where exactly the same happens.

High voltage electricity pylons are apparently the cause.

Push it or tow it away from the services and problem solved

Nothing in the Renault, and no windows open. It had gone when I came back, and the Yeti was ok.
