* 75 bhp version, I keep forgetting they do a 100 bhp version too. Thats what they should have used.

However...that's peak power output...you might find that the engine delivers the power over a wider section of the rev range than the 100bhp will...which would make it more sporty, as it's more likely to be "on cam".

If nothing else though, the 75bhp engine will probably be cheaper to insure, which will make it available to a lot more people who couldn't afford the Fabia vRS but want one anyway. Give it a couple of years and you'll struggle to find one without Lexus light clusters... :D

it is quite fun as it is and its rung about 0.8bar of pressure right now. really needs some better tyres and stiffer suspension so it grips better. any idea on where to get some of them cut slicks from?

My little 1.2 HTP with 65bhp (and it's a combi) is quite 'nippy' , certainly faster acceleration especially in 5th compared to the Punto (1242cc) I used to own...

Most tyre specialists should be able to get hold of them for you...

anyone got any other ideas to improve traction?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

But they will never darken my car :D

In fact, mine will always be as stealthy as it can be...

Having the most disgusting caramel colour seats in my 1.9 tdi ill have the interior out of a new Sport, you can keep the rest of the car.

Wonder how easy it is to make the Sport seats heated? Hmmmmmm.... Might also have the alloys if they're better than my 14" ones!

Sounds like what the Octy drivers said when the Fabia vRS came out ;)

I followed a Nova 'Spin' to work this morning

:rofl::rofl:

Who thinks up these names

Slicks (or cut slicks if you're going for road use) will really be the best bet. And getting the widest tyres you can for the front...you could also fit equally wide tyres on the rear too, but they're essentially "drag" as they're not driven.

It could also be more fun cornering with stupid amounts of traction on the front and not a lot on the back... :D

Ok, maybe it isnt like a vRS, but its a cheap way of getting the younger buyers into a skoda and surely thats a good thing! i'd rather drive a car called sport, than 'comfort' or 'elegance' any day. No disresct to anybody here.

quite right...

i think we are confusing a hint of smugness from Fabia vRS owners and one or two comments about motor industry psyche regarding naming of special editions as being a negative stance towards the product.

I am sure that all the board welcomes owners of "sport" models to the fold... and i assume "sport" owners will be quite smug when watching owners of none sport models pay for "styling" mods....

the sport is a marketing tool for lower spec Fabias just as most special editions are.. we should as has been mentioned its not called spin/spree/southcoast/spaz/vh1/werthers original or tim henman version......

Lol - The Fabia Henman edition - so much promise, so little delivery..... :D

You only have to look at Citroen with there saxo VTRs and VTSs. The VTS was too much for most young drivers to buy and insure which is why the VTR took off so well.

When i visited my local skoda dealer to take a test drive of a Fabia Vrs we got into a descusion about the new 'sport' fabia - his coments were along the lines that Skoda has missed the target audience on this one.

The Fabia Vrs is a aimed at a young/young at heart age group (no offence ment here!!!) who enjoy driving - most of us are willing to pay the extra for insurance and general running costs to have a 'Sporty' car.

The trouble with the 'sport' is that its aimed at the same kind of Vrs buyer. After taking a test drive and talking from experience of the Vrs you leave the showroom with a massive smile and are quite happy spending the extra cash!

ramble ramble ramble i think we all know what im going on about here so i shall finish!

It looks pretty nice - shame it isn't as sporty as the name implies but it's not that bad a product. I personally don't think it's the same as the Furby vs Octi thing, they are different size cars and the Octi is more pronounced 'sporty' being a petrol.

Got no problem with that either
