Price for a ECU and a turbo

Featured Replies

Got my car in getting looked at.They reckon the fault is either lying with the ECU or the turbo.Has anybody recently purchased any such items?.

Hmmmm. ECUS's are very clever tbits of kit and rearly go wrong. What seems to be the problem? What car is it?

Gaz

P.S. They are expensive ECU new from dealer £700. Turbo for a VRS £450. Not cheap

It's a 2006 VRS.Thanks for the reply.Engine management light coming on and car going into limp mode.

Last week the diagnostic equipment at main dealers said it was boost pressure solenoid sporadic fault. They cleared fault but came back on after 40miles.

Now it's saying ecu fault? The garage are talking with Skoda UK Milton Keynes to see what problem is.

It would be rare if it was the ECU, it does happen. If you end up needing an ECU then talk to us first, we can help at a lot less than half of the price of a new one!!

My parents had the same symptoms with their Octavia TDi (limp mode & emissions light) - turbo was coked up/otherwise goosed (sticking actuator arm) and ended up being replaced (under warranty). OEM part is around £750+ VAT from TPS on service exchange, IIRC.

Garage seem to have found fault now.The drain holes below the windscreen have been blocked with leaves, the water has been sitting causing the wiring harness to get wet.

Not suprised though the wiring harness tape looks like it has been put on in the dark!.Some of the connections are corroded hence the ecu and components not functioning properly.Fingers crossed should have it back by Friday.

BE AWARE KEEP YOUR DRAIN HOLES CLEAR!!!.
