Hi guys, i've done plenty of searches but nothing that ticks the boxes i want. The gearbox has given up the ghost so whilst its off i thought id do the conversion. I've seen some complete kits but all seem to be for upto 180bhp. I want something a bit more solid without breaking the bank. Lighter flywheel too if possible, Has anyone got the part numbers for me and or a link to a suitable place. Much appreciated

right lets dispell a myth... it's not specifically a g60 flywheel.. it's also used or a much more common car... a mk3 golf gti 2.0 16v with abf engine code.. which ironically uses the same clutch kit as a vr6 engine.. identical flywheel and clutch... same part numbers. so potentially you could get both from the same donor vehicle... the 16v/vr6 clutch kit is good for about 300bhp.

edit: i purchased the 16v golf flywheel and second hand clutch from my local breakers yard for £20... i must admit i wont be using the clutch and will be using a new kit but its certainly a lot cheaper than new stuff... iirc you cannot buy these flywheels new from vw anymore, you can only get them on exchange basis where you give them your old one back for a surcharge

Most popular choice is the Sachs VR6 about £110 and as said it is the G60/ABF flywheel you want, i have mananged to aquire 2

As above....! Just had mine done and can confirm its a worth while upgrade.

I had the OEM g60+vr6 kit on my octy k04, no problems whatsoever. Also, they are pretty cheap!

Yeah it looks kosher. It's about 120 more than I would pay though. I can get a Sachs 16v/vr6 clutch kit for about £65 trade. Gawd knows where they are getting those flywheels from brand new??

if you read carefully it doesn't say if its a genuine vw flywheel or not

I got G60/golf gti flywheel from skoda dealer and just paid the 30 quid surcharge as vw dealer in wakefield is useless,

Oh and it was exchange but it was a brand new unit

Sachs vr6 clutch and any make g60 fly. Do not believe the bad reports on techniclutch, I have just used them and had some of the best customer service ever.

Can sombody point me to the right direction where I can exchange mine G60 flywheel in Kent?I rang several vw Skoda dealers with no luck.
