When front DRLs come on rear side lights come on.

When side lights switched on rear side lights and number plate lights come on.

All LEDs

Reverse gear engaged two reversing lights.

100_0072.jpg

Breaks on now fog lights come on as break lights.

Fog lights work as required.

when DRLs come on "blue bulbs" in light unit come on.

They have been replaced by LEDs.

So what was done by coding alone and what required hard wiring?

I tried to have rear lights on at the same time as my DRL's on my Superb but gave up in the end after approx 70 different coding combinations!!

is it easy to do? if its just codes then they'd be handy to know ;)

i like the twin reverse light

It was all hard wired using relays.

I first started of by making my "blue bulbs" light up and it just went from there.

No coding is possible so I had to go outwith the can bus system.

I'm interested in the side light one and the rear lights auto on with the drl's. Did you do it all in the dashboard or have you had to run cables through the car to the rear/ front light cluster?

To make the front side lights come on when the DRLs light you will have to run a cable into each headlight unit.

To make the rear side lights come on you will have to run at least one cable through the car from engine bay to boot. Not to difficult.

Nice lights but isn't it about time you had a litter pick, looks like you have parked your lovely VRS on the outskirts of an landfill?

Thats what i thought... Get the brush out :giggle:

What about the rear indicators?

thanks for the info!

How do you do the twin reverse please

Was wiring the extra reverse light easy I really want to do that to my polo

The wiring was easy.

Once the bulbs have been installed take a connection from the old reversing light to the new reversing light.

I ran the wire behind the bumper. If you look underneath there is plenty space and easy access.

I modified mine yesterday so that when the DRl's are on the rear side lights and reg lights are on. I wanted it this way so that you still have bright DRL's and some rear lights, and they come on auto so I can't forget lol.

All done by connecting 2 wires in the dash behind the light switch (10 min job for a novice). Plus if I turn the DRL's off the rear lights dont stay on, but it you then decided to put the side lights on with the switch they all work as normal.

I'm going to make sure its ok over the next couple of days and if it is and there's enough interest I will do a how 2.

What gauge cable you use dude??

Don't understand is there a slot for an extra reversing bulb in the cluster light ? And pics of the way it's done also the twin rear fog

Nice work!

A few questions...

- One of the number plate LED's looks brighter than the other?

- To get two rear fog lights I assume you have had to add a European (left hand drive) light cluster? Or have you just added a red bulb in the reverse light?

- To replace the lost reverse light (in order to gain the 2nd fog) I assume you have had relocate the bulbs into the clear indicator lens? Looks a tight fit?

I reckon you might have some problems by having the front side light bulbs coming on with the LED DRL's as this now looks like you are driving on side lights and fog lights. Sometimes the only way to easily differentite between fogs and DRL's is the lack of any other front lights. We all know how people struggle as it is :giggle:

I like the rear fogs coming on with the brake lights - nice touch

So is it a replacement lense cluster from a euro car ? To get the rear right hand reverse light working??

With regard to the number plate light it ia due to the camera.

When viewed with the naked eye they are both the same.

I used a euro light cluster for the near side to provided identical fog lights.

I suppose you could use a suitable red bulb and keep the existing light cluster.

I located the reversing bulbs in the clear lens.

I drilled a 13mm hole and inserted a 501 bulb holder.

I found there was plenty of room.

Bit of an old thread but just noticed these...

LED number plate lights

I see they fit the Polo so I wonder about a Fabia?

Have been thinking of getting two fogs, two reverse since ownership!

Big question... Is it legal? I.E. Does it comply with road use and construction laws?

It may all work, even be better but will it pass an MOT or police check? Although I cannot see why, you never know as there could be some sort of bulb seperation laws/rules and also, as modified, what does your insurance company have to say about it? B)

you'd be much cheaper buying led bulbs from eBay rather than the full light unit as shown

Is it legal?

Yes

Think of all up market cars BMW Merc Audi these all have twin fog and twin reversing lights.

Also some Vauxhalls to name but a few.

Manufacturers cut costs by fitting one reverse and one fog light.

Any detailed "after" pics form the light cluster? Sounds a good DIY job...
