Discount on NEW Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

First of all, "Hi everyone!"

I am new to this forum - joined because I am currently considering a new Skoda.

I've driven Fords nearly all my life, but always had a soft-spot for Skoda since they joined VAG, and especially their vRS models.

My dad recently took delivery of a new 2012MY Fabia vRS and I have to say I am VERY impressed.

With a baby on the way and the need for back doors and a bigger boot, I am giving very serious consideration to an Octavia vRS - specifically a vRS TDI DSG Estate.

I've always thought of the vRS Estate as a mini-Audi RS4, and with my annual mileage I want a performance diesel. This car seems to tick all the boxes.

Currently Skoda are doing 0% VAT but obviously that is Manufacturer funded. Therefore what additional 'wiggle-room' do the Dealers have? I have very good negotiating skills ...

Thanks for your help!

Go for it mate, you won't regret it!

www.drivethedeal.com is all you need.

iirc the diesels aren't included on the 0% VAT offer.

as the man says - does the haggling for you! roughly expect a further 4 to 5 % off the 0 vat deal

main dealers hate it!

diesels are included in the 0% offer

Thanks everyone, really helpful. Defo gives me a ballpark. Now to try not to go too crazy on the options ...

Not a dsg though

I ordered my petrol vRS last November for about 16k.

Dallers,

It's not all about the cost of the Skoda, it's about cost-to-change.

I paid slightly more than I expected for mine new, but the dealer gave me £1,500 more than others for my BMW.

So either way, I was well happy.

No haggling just a full tank of fuel in lieu delivery as I got it from drive the deal.

Mats are standard on the vrs.

Got a spare wheel too!

If I had had no options and just the dsg I could have had it for 15.6k which is pretty much what my age cars are selling for now!

The current No VAT offer is good, but what would be even better is if they extended their current 0% APR offer to include the vRS. At the moment you can only get the No VAT and the 0% APR together on the lower specced trim levels.

Mazda are currently allowing No VAT and 0% APR on the 6 Diesel Sport trim so maybe Skoda will decide to match it.

Dealer would allow me to do both but I opted for the 3years finance as it included 3years free servicing.

So the dealer offered you No VAT and 0% APR on a vRS? I checked with my local dealer, but they wouldn't do the 0% as Skoda finance aren't offering it on the vRS trim.

Which dealer did you buy from? :)

Ingram Ayr.

the 2years 0% offer was discussed although it was never an option for me so maybe might not have went through at point of order.

That said, various people have been posting that the diesel VRS isnt included in the 0 VAT offer but thats what ive ordered.

I would phone a few dealers and see what they say. Wouldnt surprise me if they are wrong.

I got both on mine but this was last April - i don't think it is on now though.

Agreed, wish i could find one on a 0% deal

I've ended up going preregistration skoda uk car due to waiting list.

Dsg, full leather, xenons etc estate £17k

M&S car buying plan 6.3% is cheaper than skoda finance and % of loan offset. Plus no hidden set up fees like sainsburys etc - worth a look

Skim read this - if you factory order a vRS like I did as I spec'd Xenons, you don't get 0%....but the dealer chucked in two years free servicing to compensate as we'd been led up the garden path.

You do get 0% APR and 0% VAT if you factory order, you can't and never could get 0% APR on vRS though, only Elegance and L&K. But all Octavias both stock and factory order have VAT free with the exception of the 4x4 models and the Scout models.

You could last year B)

Yes last year was a good deal if you went for a vRS, but this quarters campaigns are slightly different.
