I have a 53 Fabia VRS with 130k on the clock

Brought it about 4months ago and what a brillaint car!! Cudnt b happier

However ive jus noticed a problem, dnt no wether it was there b4 or after i brought it

The car pulls throught gears 1 to 4, absolutely no problem at all! I mean its quick! I can gap my friends 140BhP audi a3 by a good 5 car lenghs and even keep up with my friends Golf Anniversary 150BhP TDI

The problem is in gear 5/6 where it will not go past 110mph or more inportantly not boost past 3k revs! It gets to 110mph very quickly but will not break past the 110mph barrier :S

I have been advised many things, turbo, turbo seals, wastegate and even MAF sensor :S

I was wondering if ne1 had the same problem?

Also i had the car remapped to see if it would go past 110mph but when mapped it would not go past 3k revs in 4th Gear!! To which i was advised my car has a turbo seal problem, however the car doesnt smoke at all! So im not convinced that is the problem :S

Any advice would be welcome

Are we talking about these speeds on a public road,if so I would be more worried about loosing my licence and getting caught by Mr plod.

Noo on a private road of course

Sorry to ask but you thought there was a problem with your car, so you thought remapping it to go faster would help?

I thought it was a electonic limiter on the ecu so by remapping it would have overwritten it but ibviously that wasnt the problem

Are you intending on going over 110 mph on a regular basis? If not is it really a problem?

To be honest I'd be a bit miffed if mine wouldn't go over that speed mentioned when there's possibly 20 odd mph missing but it's not about the speed, it's the fact there's something not right with the engine or parts.

Has it been a well serviced car? Are you running any crappy induction kit, original filter dirty, knackered maf, running red diesel, boost leaks?? So many things you need to look into.

The is completely original, serviced on time using genuine parts, got 130k on the clock but drives spot on apart frm the mph problem. :S
