The rear internal lights do not work. I suspect that there maybe a switch mounted inside the rear tailgate that is faulty. I want to take off the plastic trim cover but I don't want to damage it. Is there an easy way to get inside to check out this switch ( asuming there is a switch). Any advise would be appeciated. Thanks

If you mean the lights in the boot there is a switch in the lock mechanism. Shutting the boot too enthusiatically can move it and stop it working.

Thanks for getting back to me I suspect that the tailgate was left to drop a bit too quick causing the problem. Will I have to remove the the plastic panel to get at the switch?

Thanks.

I'm not sure to be honest, there have been a few threads in the past about this, try searching. The trim is a pig to remove and put back on and requires quite a bit of brute force.

Thanks for the advise, I think I will wait for a warm day to tackle this job as I dont want to snap off the fixings.
