Anyone had a mk2 cupra r?

Featured Replies

Has anyone come from mk2 265 cupra r ownership to a fl vrs?

I know it's a k04 model so ultimately more go top end but thinking a remapped tsi has just as much torque but turbo runs out of puff 5000+ rpm - not that big a deal (must admit like high rev power)

Been offered one cheap but boot space isn't any bigger than what I already have.

Also, could you really live with THAT interior? :(

I could, and highly tempted by a new Cupra R 265ps.

The leather recaro type seats look awesome too

I couldn't live with the EXterior. Looks like a clown face IMO.

.. and the boot is tiny. K04 would nice though.

Seats I quite like -

Exteria - not too fussed tbh the skoda isn't that good a looker ;)

Boot... I could 'manage' as its similar size to mine now - plus a roof box for holidays.

Think Octavia is a better buy with future silly mods outweighing the plus of a k04 from factory? Saving of 6k for a new one and YouTube vids got me excited.... In a boy racer way ;)

You guys are right - octy

Octy + diff + k04 = win

I have a Cupra although not an R and it is a hoot to drive without any mods. The interior i think is not bad ,comfy seats good layout although plastics ain't really that great but apart from that not bad ,and as for exterior it is personal taste,as in personally i like it but i know that some don't but hay.

The boot is a bit smaller than the octy but manageable but then it does depend on how much you want to carry .

They are both good cars so is down to personal preference ,and i wouldn't say no to either.

My mate has a Leon FR and the ride is terrible compared to my vRS with a few suspension mods. It bangs its way over all the bumps and potholes and always makes me feel car sick. With a decent intake and downpipe, the Tsi pulls very strongly well into the red, so don't let the fact that it hasn't got a K04 put you off.
