New car

Featured Replies

Current car 2006 Mazda 6 Sport D Pre current model. Nearly 80K and thinking of change to Skoda. Requirements are Sunroof, Xenons and Hatch, so the Octavia fits the bill(although I prefer the Mazda styling)

Had test drive in Vrs diesel and nice car but don't really need the 170 horses. So change of tack and now considering the L&k. Has anybody bought one lately, what do they think and any chance of some photos as the dealer has not sold one in quite a while.

Regards.

Take a look on Skoda's UK website and trawl through the used cars, there is usually one on there.

I got a new L&K in March - diesel with DSG, very well appointed car and I don't need 170 horses either, but it's got plenty of ooomf. It doesn't look much different to other Octavias, but it's got all the toys, as you'll notice from the listed specifications and the only extra I added was front parking sensors which I find very useful.

You may not need 170 horses but you'll soon get used to them.

I don't need the 200 horses in my petrol vRS but I'd miss them if I suddenly didn't have them.

I've just got from a 54 plate mazda diesel sport with 152k and xenons to a diesel vrs. Am loving it so far :)

Just sold my third l & k to switch to a yeti. The l& k is great. The xenons alone are worth it. Mine had 140 horses and it was more than enough.

Went to dealer today to ask a few more questions and get another drive before I sign on the dotted line. Asked about the seats in the L&K and if they were similar to the VRS i.e with bolsters in the sides. Sales replied that they were the ame as the "S" variant but covered in leather. So is he right in that the seats are the same for all models(with different cover material) except the VRS. Again, has anybody got any pics of the interior.

Pm me your email address and I will send you some of my old car. The driver also gets the electric memory function too don't forget.

I moved from an '04 Mazda6 Sport (petrol) to a Octavia Vrs last year. I also debated the L&K but was seduced by the the 200bhp (and the Vrs seats) on the test drive... I put in some Osram Night Breaker bulbs and don't miss Xenons at all ('though I did have lots of problems with mine on the Mazda - they didn't work when it was cold..). The only bits I do miss are the BOSE radio and the easy fold rear seats.

Another Mazda 6 to Octavia driver here..

I went from Mazda 6 Diesel to the TSi Octavia - Economy is not actually much worse and the fuel is cheaper!

I toyed with a VRS but found the L & K to be a better overall bet - more standard equipment - metallic standard, leather, xenons, electric seats, folding mirrors, nice alloys, multi function steering wheel etc...

It was a close decision but the performance of the 1.8Tsi looked fine for me and it does go really well.

Just what to get when the PCP expires - Octavia might not be replaced. A Superb Elegance would be nice but I'd like to see the revised 1.8 from the Audi A4/A5 in it for better economy/emissions.

Again, has anybody got any pics of the interior.

Go to google images & type in '' Skoda L&K interior''. A load or pictures come up!

Wouldn't you expect the Skoda website to have those pics and the vehicle brochures, which sadly do not, at least the websire does not and which I find a pathetic attempt. Very disappointing, especially when compared to other manufacturers' w/sites and publications. Skoda should pull their socks up in that respect and I am told, the w/sie for Skoda UK is done by the H O. in Czechoslovakia.

Pics on the way. Sorry for the delay in I replied to the email notification from briskoda.

I have an L&K. didnt look at the VRS as I was 'scared' of the extra power, and as I am a 40k a year driver with a bad back, wanted more comfort than power.

besides some of the usual issues - tyre noise, couple of rattles - i have done 43k in 14 months and have been more than happy.

normally I only keep a car 2 years, but I might actually be able to keep this one longer.

sorry, cant do photos as I would have to clean the car!!!!!

Good luck.
