How to remove storage tray below radio?

Featured Replies

Hi

This mornings little job was to remove the storage tray and fit the elegance drawer in its place. Can anyone tell me how this comes out?

Cheers

Easy......just pull the radio out about 2" and then the cubby hole will pull out easily. The radio facia overlaps the support ridges on the top of whatever is in the bottom position. B)

Should just pull out mate, did with me when i changed it for lupo cup holders anyway :L

Unclip the 2 plastic strips either side of cubby hole and radio aswell to get better access.

Really????.....never had to do that when swapping radios and draws/trays etc......the only time they got touched was when I removed one to fit the cup holder! B)

Like I said, 'to get better access', not essential I know.

Sorry.. :giggle:

If we go down that road though...the best bit of advice I can give is remove the glovebox! I had to do this to pull the wiring loom/stereo wires back into the dash area as they were obstructing the cubby and the radio going back in......mind you I think that has more to do with the USB lead that I also have that goes into the cubby from the stereo!.. :giggle: Easy fit stereo....#### that!!!

I've already removed the Glovebox! If I've got to pull out the radio then I'll need the keys which I dont have. Bugger!

Thanks for responses!

Hacksaw blades or jigsaw blades or similar cut down will work to release the radio clips.... Or anything similar...

Don't need keys.

Just work your way around the radio uncliping the plastic bits on the side and remove the buttons (or fake buttons) from above radio. You'll then have plenty of access to get the radio out.

I did mine this way as I couldn't be a r s e d to wait or go and get any removal keys.

It's more fun this way anyway
