Just a further comment, I am still unsure about whether to go for the Greenline or the 2.0 140 dpf option, I am having too much time to think about the choice and don't wsant to make one that I'll regret

Sorry about the spelling mistake, must take time to read back and check!

Go for the 2.0 - you won't regret it. I haven't.

Depends what you want - economy and low road tax more important to me than speed - so Greenline.

Our company's car policy favours environmental friendly cars and the lower CO2 emissions = the lower compensation off one's salary.

Therefore I chose Greenline Ambition Estate. And it can also be "spiced up" if 105 bhp, 250 Nm is not enough. But if DSG is preferable, then 2.0TDi 140bhp is the right choice.

The sound of 1.6TDi is pretty rough below 1800 rpm but you'll get used to it ;)

Thanks for all your comments, I will continue to ponder!

Coming from a 1.9Tdi Twindoor, the Greenline Combi has a noticeably harsher ride. This is not an issue on most A-roads or motorways, however, if you do a lot of driving on B-roads or country roads you might wish to consider a non-Greenline.

By contrast, a standard Passat Estate has a far more comfortable ride than even my Superb Twindoor. The trade-off is more body roll in a Passat Estate than the lower ride height of the Superb Greenline.

As a high mileage company car driver (30,000+ miles per year), the Greenline made more sense from a BiK and private fuel perspective, however, if you're doing less miles, or as a private owner, a 140 CR would be worth considering.

I miss the easy going nature of my remapped 1.9Tdi. I'm hoping my Greenline loosens up in a few more miles and remapping becomes a possibility.
