How to remove false floor

Featured Replies

As much as I love my false floor, it's really not helping me out when doing airport transfers. Need it out ASAP, does anyone know how to remove it?

Car is a 58 octy2 estate elegance.

Off the top of my head: unscrew the silver clips towards the front end and sides of the false floor and lift the false floor out the way. Then, 'unscrew' the clips at the back end (i.e. tailgate end) of the side supports (down near the storage panels in the side of the boot where they grip the metal load-lashing hoops), and pull the side supports back out of the boot tilting up as you go, to release them from where they fit into the back of the rear seats. Never had to remove mine so that's based on memory from when I saw my brother-in-law fit his! You'll get the details in the handbook (which I think you can download). Anyway, hope that helps.

Sarge.

Take the main top board out folding it, pull it out (heavy) Unscrew 4 hooks, 2 on each side of the side boards then remove side boards.

I think mine where just 2 big black hooks ( each one between the false floor and the side pockets.

They unscrew 1/2 turn( can´t remember left or right) and then use your strength to lift and take out the floor, atention that will pass close to sidewalls off trunk entry.

Thanks guys, gonna take it out today. Was thinking of selling it, but I'll keep it in my loft for when it's off the road as a taxi

Took me about 4 mins to take it out. Looks like more involved than there actually is.

Easy job, even though is great having the false floor it does limit height space.

Totally agree. The other night I got a 2 car estate job, 9 cases total, the other driver in the vectra estate had to take 6 cases while I struggled with the other 3. Was rather embarrassing as my last octy hatch could take 4 no problem.

Mine is in a black rubbish liner, took it off first day I got the car.

Take the roller boot cover out,( just press in the side bits that stand proud at the edges and then the tray underneath) and you can load up to the roof, I can get 6 large cases in mine and some small hand luggage

Always lay the cases flat
