I was fortunate enough whilst walking from the car park to my office today to have a fabia vRS drive past, a white one.

the driver gave it a little beans in what i would guess was 1st or 2nd gear. i thought it sounded just about sporty.

no more than 40secs later a white Polo GTI also passed me with a decent stab of throttle, but again only in 1st or 2nd gear(strangely it didn't have monza style wheels) it sounded noticeable louder, raspier and deeper, i doubt it was modified as the white haired driver must have been in his 60's but i must say the difference between the 2 is large.

anyone think that the Polo uses a levels of wadding in the silencers etc etc?

I think that the ibiza and polo are lounder

I remember that the Ibiza has a some kind on valve to make it lauder..

I would have liked to hear that.

Had a small run in with a polo gti from 30-70 before,

but obviously couldnt hear the difference from the cabin.

If the white-haired one was inclined to change the wheels maybe they also got an aftermarket exhaust?

If they bought a white polo-GTI to match their white hair they are clearly style-conscious

also depends on how old the car is / how many mile you got on it .

my VRS sound changed quit alot within 5k miles .

also the Boca and polo got another silencer design not sure if that makes the diff

Mine sounds horrid maybe I need to invest in a miltek the polos ment to be more refined and grown up :(

Mine sounds good - enough to get people turning heads when I zoom off on odd occassions

I think the Ibiza's have an engine amp, not sure if the noise would be noticable outside the car
