G201 Module sorted.

Featured Replies

So since the beginning of October i've been trying to get this G201 fault fixed, after doing the diagnostics and skoda dealer saying they would only cover 40% percent of the cost which i said was not good enough.

Then calling Skoda customer services a couple of times and practically them saying we tried our best to get the dealer to do on a goodwill offer, fair enough that they tried and didn't just fob me off.I thought no i'm not going to give up on this and just pay for it out my own money which would of been 60%.

I decided to write a letter last week to skoda UK explaining my situation and i thought it was unreasonable with the car being just a little over 3 years old, that i'm being landed with the cost to replace this defective module..

Received a phone call this morning from the Head of Skoda customer services, who apologized for the way this matter has been handled and was well aware of the Module fault, and said unfortunately it affected certain vehicles between 2006 to 2008 and you just happen to have been one of the unlucky ones but VW haven't done a recall on it,i have obviously just been made aware of your particular situation from reading your letter.

He then said that i have already contacted the dealer and told them that Skoda UK will cover 100% of the cost parts and labour and you should have a call from the dealer today confirming this...

So had the call and taking the car to dealer later today to get this bloody module replaced..

Persistence sometimes does have its rewards and maybe this has restored my faith again in Skoda...

I have to say Skoda Customer Services is excellent. The few times I have cause for complaint they have been spot on.

They certainly show the likes of Ford, BMW and VW how to deal with customers care

To me the behind the scenes service is almost as important as the car itself. As long as Skoda carry on as they are I'll always be driving a Skoda.

Yep not long dropped it off,and while i was in the showroom i couldn't help notice the fabia monte carlo in anthracite and it looked smart,so smart i asked the guy about it and i'm considering going for it.Only snag is its a 1.2 tsi although super charged and turbo charged, don't think it would be enough power for me 105 bhp,I'm so vey tempted though.

Pretty sure the 1.2TSI is only turbo'd (rather than turbo + super), just to muddy VAG's naming conventions even further.
