Octavia VRS Mk1 Carbotech XP8 Brake Pads

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have recently fitted a new set of Carbotech XP8 pads on my VRS and now I have had a chance to get used to them thought I would share my opinion for anyone looking into new pads.

They have pretty stupendous stopping power, I had pagid pads before and they massively put these to shame. I changed the fluid to Motul 600 at the same time, and have had a few hard blasts to test the combo out and have experienced no fade of any kind, in fact the brakes get noticably better with heat.

As far as daily driving goes, they still have very good stopping power when cold but do give you a squeek from time to time. Put some heat back into them and this goes.

As far as downsides go they do chuck out a fair bit of dust but its not a massive amount more than if you were driving in a simular fashion on any other pad.

Interesting. :)

What are they like from cold?

lol, serves me right for not reading the post properly. Doh!

I have the Carbotechs in my track Evo and I cant get them to fade or give up no matter how hard I try, I also ran these on the Legnum VR4 I had. I simply cannot rate thes pads highly enough....

Super Blue brake fluid is another recommendation of mine!
