I have a 2006 year make Skoda Octavia with 1.6 MPI petrol engine.

The millage clocked so far is 190,000 km.

Lately that is 3-4 months back,my car stars to jerk when the gear shift from 1st to 2nd. The same effect is noticed when the gear shift drops from 2nd to 1st.

I fact, my car has dual gear shift mode, that is automatic as well manual override.

Earlier that is 6 months ago, I did experience the slight effect of jerks when gear shift changes from 1st to 2nd, while in the automatic mode. When mentioned to my local Skoda service centre, the supervisor advised to use sometimes the manual mode. And I tried on and off with the manual mode for two months. And the situation has worsen. The jerks are quite frequent nowadays.

Otherwise the car drives beautifully.

Has anyone experience such problems?

hello and as i'm reading your problem it reminds me of my other car that been a doblo 1.9 jtd. bought it 3 years old with 80 k on clock and gears were terrible as you described in your problem a works mechanic told me to check gear box oil and change it, well I might be going on abit but when I went to chang oil book says 2 ltres and I got abou half a cup out (honest) now gears are a lot, lot better, but not saying its a cure, but gearbox oil often gets neglected.
