Anyone use these - or steer clear?

i think you have answered your own question.

keep your money and put it towards a remap.

20p resistor in a box.

Waste of money.

All it does is fool the ECU into thinking the fuel is warmer than it is.

thats that sorted then, thanks ;)

Ohh resistor, you can buy thousands of them for £20 and then sell them on to other people too :o

Seriously though, don't bother it just confuses the car to make it think it's cold and needs to overfuel.

I've had two of them, mine were both digital ones and far from the resistor in a box jobs. they do work in the same way though, the digital ones are just more precise and can be set to specific maps which are preprogrammed.

They are huge with Vauchall cdti engines and have become a tried and tested metyod of gaining more torque and BHP.

If you want to check the ones out I used they are on the DTUK website, I honestly can't praise the owner highly enough, 24hrs helpline and he'll change the programming and cable over for you at a small cost when you change cars if you like.

Andy, I suspect you haven't had what Phil is talking about. The link Phil gave is for a unit costing 20 quid, DTUK's are *just a bit* more expensive (for my 105PD that'll £350). As you say, DTUK's more than just a resisitor in a box, and the price reflects that.

Shark do a put in/take out re-map thingy too. (On my to-do list)

If these £20 things were any good, I suspect Shark, DTUK etc, would be out of a job...

anyone with any experience / thoughts on tuneit.com and their range of products
