Yeti on my drive :o)

Featured Replies

Well I've started the long wait for my Yeti. But today I have a nice red Yeti Greenline sat on my drive for the whole weekend.

It's just not fair. Only been out in it for a quick blast and I love it, and now when it goes back I'll have to dream of the day I get the keys to my very own.

Glad i chose the Onxy interior as i don't think I could live with the Gobi Sand, which is in the demo vehicle

Here's to a lovely weekend of driving a Yeti

Just been looking at a very nice 1.2TSI Elegance with the velux roof in the new blue metallic with the Gobi interior and silver rails. Showroom car and already the drivers seat was black with dirt and marks :S lovely colour combination but you would need to regularly clean the interior me thinks. Anyway poor show on the York dealer for having their showroom cars in such condition :(

Oh they failed to fix my PDC issue; claimed they could not fault it, despite the radio volume still won't turn down with reverse engaged  Again poor marks for York :( :(

Welcome Rich, lets hope your wait is short.. :)

Lease Company have advised 16 weeks

But I bet it ends up being longer :'(

Every motor show I've been to where there were Yetis with the Gobi interior they were blue from all the people getting in and out (with jeans on)... and that was normally after the show was only on for a few days or so! Apparently it cleans off easily... BUT I don't need to clean my black seats! hehehe FAR easier.

Enjoy the wait and playing with the borrowed Yeti this weekend.

Your black seats must be filthy!.....you just can't see it.

I just give our Gobi seats a quick wipe over with Aldi/Lidl leather wipes every couple of months(but I don't wear jeans)

Happy 1st Birthday by the way Johann.

Awh indeed! Harvey was delivered the day after mine! So both our Yetis are now a year old! Bless! Here they both are side by side at Marlborough Škoda a year ago:

As to dirty seats: what I can't see don't hurt me! hehehe :giggle:

Hi Rich

Personal opinion but looked at a demo with Muscovado/Onyx and thought the combination dreary, with the Muscovado/Gobi (which colour wise was was a big step for me and first with leather)always had silver/grey cars. The feeling of light in the car especially with the velux is tremendous. Mind you I do also wear jeans!

Enjoy driving the car and hope you don`t have to wait long.

The Gobi Sand is without doubt beautiful however it is very difficult to live with, having had two previous BMWs with sand coloured leather. Yes you can keep them clean with the leather wipes etc but eventually this will polish the leather and it will not have the matt effect it has when new. The light colours show up every drag or nick.

I was advised that the best way to keep your leather looking its best is to give it a very occasional wipe over with a very slightly damp cloth, nothing more. Only use the wipes and leather treatment when you really have to. Both my BMWs when moved on had between 25 and 30k miles these had to be cleaned fairly regularly with the BMW wipes to keep clean and it certainly showed, the second one I opted for Nappa leather thinking this might help. It didn't.

My recent X5 was sold with about 25k miles, black Dakota leather, looked like it had just came from the factory using the damp cloth method and it showed no signs of wear or shine. Black leather for me everytime although I would take red if it was available.

There may be a workaround for this "problem".

The radio unit will not turn off when using parking sensors just reduce to an acceptable level. Since you can choose the overall volume level of the unit which the volume control then, er, controls, try different (extreme) levels and see what effect it has. Also turn the PCD volume to full and see what happens.

Perhaps if you are not a heavy metal fan in car, you are using a volume setting that the unit considers low enough already?

Just my random thoughts because I do not find any problem even though I can hear the radio on whilst the reversing sensors are beeping. However I also use the maximum speed dependant volume control, so my unit volume before engaging reverse gear is at its lowest already.

Does any of that make any sense?

Well, had a most enjoyable weekend with the Demo Yeti. Covered 300 miles through Wales and Shropshire and enjoyed everyone of them, in complete comfort. B)

The best bit is that she returned an average of 55mpg. This included some very spirited driving on A roads.

Overal very impressed and now the long wait begins :'(

Hi Rich

Keep us posted on the arrival of your own, can tell you it`s well worth the wait!

Did you wash the beast before you returned it? :)

Cheers

Peter

She was very dirty.

Skoda advised not to worry about cleaning it as they clean all the demo vehicles after each demo.

Just checked my order on our lease companies order tool, Skoda have provided an estimated stock date of 24/02/2012. :p

Do I believe this date. :S Nope. that would be approx 12 weeks from the lease company placing the order with their dealer.

Will be interesting to see what date it becomes when it is confirmed.

The long wait continues. At least i have here to make the days go quicker.

You sure do. This forum was a godsent during my 7 month wait. Without it I would not have known about the (then new) electric driver seat option for example. And I would not have changed my order and would now have had an Aqua Blue manual Elegance 140! We will try to make the wait bearable and not post too many pics of us having fun in our Monsters! :giggle:
