New Roomster Scout Owner - TPMS Query

Featured Replies

I am a new Roomster Scout owner, 1.4TDI. Very pleased with this car, one of the best we have owned.

Apologies, if this topic is covered elsewhere but I have a TPMS issue. Fitted a new set of tyres last week and cannot reset the warning light on the dash. Have tried all combinations, so I am right is assuming there must be a need to visit a Skoda dealer and have a diagnostic plug in to reset the system or is there another way with a combination of actions.

The car I assume would behave in the same way as the Fabia. When I asked my dealer, I was not filled with confidence as they did not seem to know their TPMS from their ESP or their ABS. I appreciate the system is driven from the ABS itself which my tyre garage says there is nothing there that changing tyres could affect. Are they right or is there a costly bill coming my way? If so, has anyone solved such a problem using a local non Skoda garage?

thanks for any help.

I thought all cars with the TPMS had a button to reset it... :wonder:

Going to a dealer every time you get a pucture sounds a little frustrating.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Thank you to all responses.

However the suggestion of resetting with the TPMS button is exactly the problem, it will not reset after any number of attempts and driving.

It goes off for a second then back on again.

I would hazard a guess at a faulty TPM sensor then. I don't know where it's located or the like. Maybe worth a Vag-com scan??

A quick note to give an update on the TPMS problem where after new tyres, could not reset the warning light.

It went to my local dealers today and the matter was solved by a diagnostic 'master reset'. Theory is that something was moved by the tyre fitters. Anyway, very happy this solved and have tested it works. I am not one to normally praise dealerships but after 40 minutes in the workshop, the charge was none. Quite amazing and a really good feeling that my local Skoda dealer at least values customers. My dealership is Meaden's Skoda, in Sway, Hampshire (New Forest). Today has resurrected my faith, excellent service and excellent car the Roomster Scout.

Hope this update helps others.
