Fitting PD150 hybrid turbo

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Quick question as the hybrid turbo is my next planned mod ;-)

Once the hybrid is fitted does it have to be mapped to suit immediately or can it be taken to a tuner to be done later?

Reason I ask is cos the drive in drive out quotes are way OTT for me (circa £1800) - wondered if I might be able to get a private mechanic to fit it for me to save some ££££'s

Thanks in advance :-)

No problems with that :) prob do it the world of good running on lower boost for a few miles :)

I ran an Allard VT2 (largely the same) on stock fabia vRS software for about a month. Was quite good as it dyno'd a true 150bhp on stock software / boost levels :D

How much would it cost to obtain one of those bad boys?? ;-)

I'm not able to offer mine up as part ex as I need the car for my daily commute.

Does the hybridisation count as a turbo refurb? In other words could I buy a second hand but working PD150 turbo with any mileage on it safe in the knowledge it's going to be as good as refurb one when it's done??

How many notes might the various options cost me? ;-)

I think a brand new pd150 hybrid (md376) from turbo dynamics is in the region of 1200 pound from memory

Mines had all hardware to run 220-240bhp and ran fine on the standard map!

They're £1,062 inc VAT + a small postage charge.

Give unit 18 a ring ding, Ally is a full VAG master tech, very very knowledgeable bloke and they`ll smash that price I should think. Worth a call

Turbo technics have a hybrid pd150 for £500 excluding vat. Think it ison an exchange basis though

Loads of people had had problems with exchange hybrid units- is it worth the risk?

Other company to try is the Turbo Centre, around £650 for a brand new hybrid last time I spoke to them.
