Tyre Sizes 2.0l Diesel Octavia

Featured Replies

I have just got a flat tyre, and put the spare on. I need new tyres, however when I search online against my number plate it comes up with 205/60H15 or 225/45W17

I've currently got 195/50 R15, V on.

Which is the correct one?

I have an Octavia Hatchback, 06 plate, 2.0 diesel. I have no idea how to find out the correct tyre size.

Sorry for being such a girl!

Rachel

If an Ambiente, then 205/60/15, if an Elegance, then 205/55/16.

2.0Tdi wasn't available as a Classic (195/65/15), so you appear to have some non-standard sized tyres on your car.

Hope this helps and no, you're not being a girl, you're right to question it!

Hi Rachel,

Why don't you have a look at all the other tyres you have on the car and the punctured one, they will tell you what size tyre you need by the markings on the sidewalls.

Hope that helps,

Ian

It's possible that the previous owner put four incorrect tyres on tha car to save money/or that was all that was available at the time/tyre place monkey made a mistake? Hence that would not help. OK, so there is only 10mm difference in the tread. The Radius and Rim is fine. Maybe check the VIN at a main dealers to see if it had special fitments?

Rachel, if you can take a picture of your car and the wheels/tyres and post it here then we can soon tell you if you have the correct wheels and tyres fitted

The correct sizes should be stated on a sticker on the inside of the fuel filler flap.

Agreed- but easier to check the other tyres fitted to the road wheels. My spare tyre is a different size but on a steel 16" rim- that may cause your confusion.

Agreed, Rachel asked what is the tyres for fitting to her car, if the sticker on the filler flap is like mine then it will show several different sizes of tyres.

To get what was factory fitted on your car, type your option codes (on a sticker in your service book or under the carpet in the boot) into this site: http://igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx

In my case it returned the following:

1NL = Covers for alloy wheels

H6T = Tires 205/60 R15 V
