Nope. Next years quote would rocket. I have quote for about £1000 at the moment for repairs.

I guess everyone will be different with no claims bonus/age etc. but I had to claim after a deer ran into the side of mine. Quote only went up £30 so might not be as expensive as you think.

Yes, but if you want to change insurers then they look on it as an unrecovered claim and you'll get screwed on the renewals. Happened to me with fully insured protected NCB's etc. Had to stay with current lot as to change would cost too much money :(

Incidentally £1000 doesn't seem too bad for that. I've just had an insurance job done on mine. (Sainsbury's lorry scraped rear quarter and bumper etc but took full liability for it) No way near as much damage as yours and the final bill was £700!!!

Ouch! Good luck with the repair

Ouch indeed. £1000 to repair that sounds cheap to me, if I was planning on keeping the car post-repair then I would want it fixed properly. Have you got protected no-claims?

£1000 is original new parts and labour and paint. I have been given a discount of £300 though. I have used the garage before and they have done excellent jobs before.

I know an excellent bodyshop in dorset, who are very reasonable.

Otherwise there is a chap recommended by somebody on here who did a reasonable job for a good price around the southampton area.

Drop me a PM if you want the details and I can pass them on.

Look up these http://www.justcarclinics.co.uk/ did mine after i was rear ended by a Nissan Navara longwheelbase 4x4 , my car was 5 days old. Thye rebuilt it i took it into the dealers and had a mechanic look it over (he didnt know about the crash) he couldn't find ANY faults. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

So a deer killed its self last night using my car.

Pics of damage...

Anyone know any decent cheap repair places in hampshire?

Decent and cheap should never be linked together in the same sentence especially in Hampshire

Try it you may be surprise. My 23 year old mate has just smashed his Z4 into a barrier and the bill will be £5k. His insurance will go up approx £100 at renewal - He is only paying £600 or so which was cheaper than his Mk1 Fabia VRS.

Gutting about the car, hope you gutted the deer & took it up the road for tea!

Now that would be illegal so I'd hate for you to buck the trend and break the law.

Seriously Shane, I do hoep you can get a decent fix for your £1000, that sounds like good value.

Ian
