New battery

Featured Replies

I want a new battery, what should I go for? OEM or what?

Want or need?

OEM of course is good, have used a fair few of the Bosch heavy duty batteries and they seem to last very well indeed.

Well, both really, its OK but I should replace it, my clock flickers when the car starts and stuff

How old is the current battery?

go lightweight and save 10kgs or so from the front end....

will it have the same power etc

how much, details plzzz

My Dad's got one of those yellow tops in his Aston and its awesome. 14 years old now, has been in a dire state before which a normal battery would have just died. This thing just woke up and got all 5.4 litres going in an instant :D:thumbup:

I was going to suggest Optima gel battery, good for track/racing regs too as they dont leak :)

Whilst your seeking advice I was thinking about CG lockers the other week and thought I must mention it to Luke as its something I think you would dig.

Dont know if you have heard of them or seen them but they are very good and very subtle

eurocarparts have about 7 batterys for a vrs prices from £75-99. Plus you can use the 25% discount code .

Wanna sell it? :p

I'll get one I think, a normal battery is like £100 or whatever anyway right?

Are there any down sides to the OEM battery?

I'd like to put mine in the boot too, what would I need?

nope lol the only thing with the yellow top your have trouble mounting it in the normal place as it doesnt mount the same

I'd second the battery choice as he "races".... :giggle:

Also I would HIGHLY recommend the CG Locks......I got one several years ago when they first came out......mainly as it stops your hips rotating forwards and "slouching" in the seat...which really FUBAR's my back on a long run! But they also hold you alot more firmly in the seat....don't really notice the side loads until the passengers start compaining as they're sliding all over the place... ....Oh and alot of stunt people use them (like on the last Bond movies etc)

Best of luck sourcing one. I've had one on back order with Merlin Motorsport for months and months......serious case of demand outstripping supply

Send Jason a PM - He has done this, it may even be in his build thread.

Demon Tweaks not got them in?
