Just missed out on a Yeti 2.0 TDI Elegance used/demo :(

OK, just got the quote off DtD for £18,389.51 (inc Mats and Met Paint). So how do I know how much part-ex I would get against this from the dealer if I dont know who they are ?

Thanks.

You will get a price from them over the phone. And you will be waiting at least 6 months for this car so plenty of time to sell it somewhere else if you are not happy with that price. Also remember that James from Allams is always happy to look at a DtD quote and see how close he can match that......... With him you get the good price AND the service you'd expect.

I did not agree a trade in price with them since I was going to sell my Audi privately. When that fell through they were happy to look at it with only a week's notice. But in the end another buyer came forth at the last minute from the Audi owners' club and I sold it privately before having to trade my car in on the Yeti.

Lanstrom, DO NOT be tempted with getting a quote from Broadspeed!

They beat the DtD quote by a few hundred £, but I would never deal with them again OR recommend them to anyone.

Thanks. But as per my original question ... Has any one used a brokerage service before ?

Bit nervous as I usually use franchise dealer.

Thanks.

Hi, I ordered mine through UK Car Discounts - very polite & friendly - 3K discount, due March 2012... so don't know how good they are yet!!

Send me a PM, Lanstrom.

It is no secret who the dealer is (or was). By doing that Google for Drivethedeal on this forum (that I mentioned above) you will find plenty of mention of which London dealer it is. :giggle:

It's not Marlborough any more, J.

EDIT....but Mike did tell me he was still prepared to sell his grandmother to get a sale :-)

Well, he didn't, but recently said he would make every effort to do the biz at every opportunity.....

I might be looking closely at the forthcoming Citigo next year. If he'll sell me one for 3/9d I'll have one.

Crikey! That's nearly four bob...

But worth every (old) penny.

EDIT. There's a film title in there somewhere..."when Penny meets Bob" Starring Elsie Tanner.

(OH, NO...Just realised....OFF TOPIC...got nothing to do with Yetis...Damn!)

Shh!!

A Skoda dealer offered £11500-00 in p/ex' for my car this morning against a Yeti Elegance.Went onto Webuyanycar who are not famed for being generous with their figures and was offered £13950-00!!.

You might be surprised to hear I turned down Mr Skodas offer.

I was surprised when my local Skoda Franchise offered £6,000 for my Octy (2008 1.9 TDI Elegance) and yet every other Franchise (Hyundai, Vauxhall, Ford, Toyota etc)dealer offered £7,000ish. I thought I would get more off an official Skoda Franchise as it would be easier for them to sell but I am obviously wrong ... or they were just trying to rip me off.

Yes, but what will WBAC's final figure be after they have inspected the car, and found all the tiny faults you know nothing about?

I can assure you there is not £2.5K worth of faults on my car!.Remember the £13950-00 is a trade price and not a trade in price so my car is worth £14,5k in a proper trade in or am I being greedy ?.

I think you might be in for a shock there

WBAC are notorious for reneging on their opening 'offer' - and then they'll pester you for ever....

It's a ll known fact that WBAC offer a better than market value for the cars to get you to have the inspection done.

They will always knock a couple of thousand off for faults whether there are any or not and the price you will finally be offered is well below what you would get for a private sale.

It's just the way they sucker you in. Personally I wouldn't use them but the choice is yours

Dont worry,I have no intention of using WBAC their reputation precedes them.

As the others have said, and why they are being investigated by the FSA.

Typically they will knock off £100 for every little mark on the paint work, ditto for marks and scratches internally, and will even measure the tyres and knock money off for anything below standard depth. £2,500 can soon be found!!
